Vatulele Island Resort

The development
of a perfect tropical escape was the
vision of Emmy-award winning Australian
television producer Henry Crawford, and
Martin Livingston a fifth generation
European Fijian, hotelier. It was named
Fiji''s top resort in the 2005 AAA
Tourism Awards.
 Vatulele
(pronounced ‘Vah-too-lay-lay’), is
located on a spectacular island in the
Fiji group.
The resort is 'all inclusive' and
accommodates just 19 couples who are
pampered by 110 staff.
In keeping with the owner's philosophy,
there are no TV's, newspapers,
telephones, money transactions or shoes.
Vatulele is generally acknowledged as
one of the most outstanding 'bare-foot'
luxury resorts in the world, and is well
known for its amazing weddings as well
as scuba diving. |
The Point
THE POINT attracting private jet set.
Our new 'super-bure' has already
attracted many 'private jetters'.
This is a premium bure with a commanding view of the lagoon
and entire beach. It has two levels, with air conditioning and a pool (fresh
water). Well, there are actually TWO pools! Not to mention permanent staff
assigned on a fulltime basis.
 This
bure is ideally suited to high profile guests seeking privacy.
Demand is particularly high with honeymooners and wedding celebrants.
THE POINT is already heavily booked, so be early to avoid
disappointment!
The Grand Bure

Honeymoon Bure.

This latest addition to Vatulele was
conceived by Henry Crawford (who also created THE POINT) and opened in mid July
2004.
The most remote of the bures, this mini-palace is noted for its extreme privacy,
and architectural detailing. Vale Viqi gives you 182 square metres/1960 square
feet of exclusive space plus private courtyard/deck. Air conditioned, sound
system, two indoor showers, two outdoor showers, bidet, bathtub, cosy dining
area, and plunge pool, all surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. All this
plus easy beach access.
Full time staff reside in nearby quarters along with permanent electric cart
transportation.

early to avoid disappointment!
Deluxe Beach Villas
The villas
or bures (pronounced 'boo-rays')
are spacious and identical,
enjoying easy access to the
water, each with its stretch of
white sand.
 Twelve
doors open to an expansive
terrace, and from the living
room you walk up three steps to
the bedroom, with a king size
bed and a dressing area.
The bures are around 50 metres
apart and are set in natural
jungle, allowing privacy. They
are known as
 our
DELUXE BEACH BURES.

Weddings: Vatulele is the ultimate honeymoon getaway. Traditional dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a barge trip across the logoon, and children toss flowers petals in the sand as she is carried ashore for the ceremony. All the guest are invited. They participate in champagne toasts and the traditional Kava ceremony. The wedding service is held on the beach of the resort prior to sunset. Floral archways are constructed from flowers and palm leaves in front of which and alter is positioned. Several restrictions apply because of the style of the resort.
