ABOUT QAMEA - OUR RESORT
Qamea Resort and Spa is an exclusive tropical destination for discerning
travelers seeking a truly unique and authentic Fijian experience without
sacrificing luxury or service. From the moment you step onto the island,
you will feel as if you have entered a Fijian village set in a South
Pacific tropical paradise.
At Qamea we accommodate at any given time a maximum of 32 guests (16
years of age and older) in our 16 spacious beachfront bures (Fijian
bungalows) and villas. We are the only resort on Qamea Island, set on
100 lush tropical acres of landscaped gardens, bushland, and jagged
volcanic South Pacific mountains that soar behind the property. The
resort fronts onto a private white sand beach of just under a kilometer
in length, and is known as the most spectacular in Fiji's northern
island group. All of our bures and villas are air conditioned, face the
beach, positioned for maximum privacy, and have recently undergone
extensive renovations and upgrades. |

ACCOMMODATION
At Qamea, we are continually thinking of ways to make our
accomodation even better. Even though we completed a full
resort renovation in 2004, in July of 2006 we invested
heavily in refurbishing all 11 of our our Beachfront Bures
with all new furnishings and amenities. In July we also
introduced our two new Honeymoon Bures, each at the absolute
edge of our white sand beach and with private jacuuzi spa
pools and covered daybeds.
Our ongoing commitment to Qamea Resort & Spa has resulted in a standard
of accomodation that is the envy of other resorts in the South Pacific,
and has been a contributing factor to Qamea's award as one of the "Top
Ten Hideaway Resorts in the World" by the Robb Report (March 2004), and
more recently being added to Conde Nast's list of recommended resorts in
Fiji.

BEACHFRONT BURES
Qamea’s eleven authentic Beachfront Bures all
have thatched roofs and were designed and built in traditional
Fijian style, with soaring 20 foot ceilings and hand polished
local mahogany hardwood floors. All our bures are positioned
for maximum privacy, such that when you are taking in the views
of the beach and lagoon from your covered deck, your privacy is
not compromised by views of other bures. All of our Beachfront
Bures were refurnished in July of 2006, with romantic four
poster beds, sofa, cabinents, deck furniture, and more!
All are spacious with over 650 square feet
(including covered deck), have modern split air conditioning,
fully stocked mini bar, tea and French press coffee making
facilities, ceiling fan, super high quality king size
comfortable bed with all cotten high thread count Egyptian
linens, separate living area, and antique Fijian art collected
by the owners from neighboring villages and islands. Our bures
have large covered decks with comfortable furniture and hammock
with dramatic and unobstructed views of the ocean and sunsets.
The bures also boast large fully remodeled bathrooms with
imported European fittings, heated towel rack, hair dryer,
outdoor riverstone courtyard showers, and complimentary Pure
Fiji (brand) amenities.

HONEYMOON VILLA
In addition to our eleven Beachfront Bures, we
also offer a split level 1,200 square foot Honeymoon Villa.
This is a stunning split-level villa built, as are the other
bures at Qamea, in the traditional Fijian style, with high woven
bamboo ceilings and polished mahogonay hardwood floors. The
upper level is the bedroom, and two steps take you down to the
lounge. Both rooms face the sea and have access to a large
verandah by sliding glass doors.
The bure is raised six steps above the lawn,
and is fully screened. The bedroom is appointed with a large
bamboo king size bed, side tables with figured lamps, large
wardrobe, vanity unit, lounge chair and decorative mosquito net
over the bed. Throw cushions, mats and Fijian art add to the
overall luxurious effect. The lounge has two divans, both of
which can become beds when needed, an imported lounge suite,
side tables, sideboard for minibar and tea/coffee making
facilities and decorative table lamps and paintings. Both of
the rooms are cooled by overhead fans and split air conditioning
and have an abundance of tropical potted plants.
The spacious covered deck has lounge chairs,
a table and hammock. The oversize bathroom has an indoor shower,
double sinks, and opens to a private outdoor riverstone courtyard
with both an outdoor shower and jacuzzi spa pool. |

HONEYMOON BURES
Qamea Resort & Spa’s two new Honeymoon Bures are designed
specifically for discerning guests seeking the ultimate in
luxury and romance. With over 800 square
feet, the Honeymoon Bures command expansive and unobstructed
views of Qamea’s lagoon and long white sand beach – easily the
best view on the resort.
In
addition, both of the Honeymoon Bures have romantic canopied
four poster beds with soft white decorative mosquito netting
curtains and boast a bathroom of over 300 square feet with walls
that slide into pockets to opens onto a private outdoor
courtyard with enticing natural stone Jacuzzi spa pool with
waterfall.
Like all of the Qamea’s accommodation, the
Honeymoon Bures are fully air conditioned, have romantic outdoor
river stone showers, with attention to detail at every step.
One
of the unique features of our Honeymoon Bures is a covered day
bed off the beachside deck with privacy curtains.

PREMIUM VILLAS
We recently completed construction of our two
Premium Villas. Both Villas are situated at the far end of our
white sand beach, affording maximum privacy and seclusion from
the rest of the resort, along with the highest level of luxury
for the discerning couple. The Premium Villas are very spacious
and feature a wonderful airy feel.
The Premium Villas are fully air-conditioned, and have a stereo
system and telephone. One of the highlights of the villas
are their large covered decks that extend close to the beach
with expansive views of Qamea’s pristine lagoon and
romantic sunsets. Each Villa also boasts a swimming pool from the
deck with sweeping ocean views. The spacious bathrooms contain
imported fixtures, including double sinks and an indoor shower.
A separate door to the private river stone
courtyard opens to a large outdoor open-air shower with access
to the deck and pool. Our Premium Villas are the best that
Qamea Resort & Spa has to offer. |
