The Coral Coast
The Coral Coast begins at Momi, approximately 20 kilometres south of
Nadi. The paved highway meanders through spectacular scenery
featuring Fijian villages, sugar cane fields, coral lagoons and
beaches.
Denarau
Denarau Island is located a convenient 20 minutes from Nadi Airport
and 10 minutes from Nadi Town. It offers a variety of accommodation
and activities, amongst which is a championship golf course.
Kadavu
The Kadavu Group, Fiji's fourth-largest island lies about 100
kilometres south of Viti Levu. Divers are particularly fascinated by
the 50km-long Astrolabe Reef which encloses a lagoon containing a
number of islands.
Lomaiviti
Lomaiviti is small group of islands (including Ovalau),
approximately an hour ferry ride off the coast of Viti Levu. It
contains both premier and backpackers resorts.
Mamanucas
Set among deep blue waters with fringing coral reefs of turquoise
and pastel green, the Mamanuca Islands and the islands of Nadi Bay

The Mamanuca

Mamanucas – Perfect incentives
The Mamanuca Islands immediately west of Nadi Bay and Viti Levu, Fiji’s largest island are set amongst deep blue waters with coral reefs of turquoise and pastel green.
These islands, easily accessible by boat, air or sea plane and tourist service helicopter are the home to more than a dozen resorts, each on its own separate island.

The
Yasawa Group is made up of some 20 islands of volcanic origin;
which lie in a chain north west of Viti Levu. They commence
about 40 km North West of Lautoka and stretch for 80 km. Some of
the larger islands are: Yasawa, Waya, Nacula, Naviti, Yaqeta and
Matacawalevu.
The Yasawas are famous for crystal blue
lagoons and some of the Pacific's most ethereal beaches. The
islands have white sandy beaches and crystalline waters, lush
tropical rainforests and soaring
volcano peaks that attract fresh tropical rain. The Yasawas are
accessed daily from Port Denarau and Lautoka by fast catamaran
and resort water taxis; or seaplane and helicopter from Nadi.
The Yasawa

The Coral

Viti Levu has some fantastic beaches. Stretching from Pacific
Harbour to Sigatoka to Momi this beautiful coastal area has
attracted many hotels. The Queens Road is sealed and largely
hugs the scenic coastline; unsealed roads head inland off the
highway and up into the highlands.
Highlights of the region: Ka Levu Cultural Centre, Sigatoka Sand
Dunes and the Taveuni Hill fortification lies across the river
form Sigatoka as well as cannibal caves and a waterfall tour.
Visit Nayawa village to see pottery making. There is a coral
Coast scenic railway trip to the simply spectacular Natadola
beach, one of the most pristine beaches on the Coral Coast.
There is Kula Bird Eco Park. Driving is available at all resorts
as well as rafting or bilibili tours, which include a village
visit and cave exploration.
Coral Coast – Ultimate meetings
The Coral Coast area runs 100km (60 miles) across the southern coast of Viti Levu from Momi, 12 miles south of Nadi to Pacific Harbour.
The coastline offers a range of spectacular tropical scenery from “Caribbean” pine mountains cascading down to the shores, sugar cane fields, coral lagoons and seemingly endless beaches.
It is the home to some of Fiji’s most famous international-style resorts as well as extensive sightseeing opportunities such as Sigatoka’s Sand dunes and expeditions into the hinterland.
The Coral Coast offers every activity imaginable, from river rafting or cruising to cave touring and authentic Fijian village tours.
The
rugged north coast is known as the Sunshine Coast for its
relatively dry climate. The scenery is stunning along Kings Road
winding down from the mountains from Dama past Viti Levu Bay and
to the beautiful Rakiraki. The climate on the Northern side of
the Nakauvadra range is similar to that of western Viti Levu,
drier and suited for growing sugar cane.
Some 30 minutes to the north of Nadi
International Airport is Lautoka, the second largest city in
Fiji. This mountainous region around Rakiraki is home to the
world renowned 'Fiji Water'. Visits to the Fiji Water Plan can
be arranged beforehand.
Highlights of the region:
Udreudre's tomb, adventure water sports, Naiserelagi Catholic
Mission known as the church of the Black Christ, and of course,
the home of Fiji Water.
The
northern islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni are known as the
'real' Fiji and for their unhurried pace of life. Vanua Levu
(Big Island) is Fiji's second largest island with an area of
5,587km2 and a population of some 130,000. Vanua Levu is a true
jewel with numerous untouched sites for those seeking peaceful
seclusion and willing to venture away from the tourist areas.
The island's main population centres are the towns of Labasa, in
the north, and Savusavu, located at the foot of the peninsula.
Labasa, with a population of almost 25,000 has a large Indian
agrarian community and is a major centre of Fiji's sugar
industry. Savusavu is smaller and is a popular centre for
tourists owing to its diving and yachting facilities.
Fiji's northern region also includes the
smaller islands of Laucala, Qamea, Matagi, Namenalala, Nukubati
and Kaimbu. Divers are drawn from all over the world to Taveuni
for its amazing underwater habitant including the 31km long
rainbow reef. The region is home to more than a dozen resorts
which are easily accessible by air or local ferry. Most are
small and intimate and offer the type of vacation difficult to
find anywhere else in the world.

Savusavu, is perhaps Fiji's best kept secret, with its hot
springs, harbour, pearl farm, eclectic community and nearby

and fascinating windows into the undersea world, a world-class
surfing break at Yanuca Island. Inland are the rolling
grasslands of the Namosi Highlands.

famous most world class Frigate Passage south of Beqa Island.
Various dive and snorkelling sites in Beqa Lagoon. Take an

Suva -
the Capital of Fiji, was developed in the late 1800's and
retains much of the character of the colonial period. Its many
attractions include shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, markets,
a museum and sightseeing tours. You can enjoy a walk around the
central city area, which will uncover numerous surprises. The
Roman Catholic Cathedral is a Suva landmark and a leisurely
stroll down Victoria Parade (the main avenue) will take you past
an array of restaurants, clothing and book stores as well as
banks and airline offices. Here you'll see the blending of
traditional, early 20th century South Pacific buildings
juxtaposed with modern high-rise structures. Towards the end of
the Parade are the Government Buildings, which open on to Albert
Park and Thurston Gardens. A short bus or cab ride south toward
Suva Point will take you to the architecturally striking
Parliament Buildings. Suva has accommodation to suit business
traveller's families and backpackers.
Highlights of the region:
Fiji Museum. City sights include fine colonial buildings, sea
wall walks, Government Buildings, bustling city markets, the
Suva yacht Club, the Fiji Golf course, National sports stadium
and gymnasium hosted events, hiking trip with the Rucksack Club.
Nightlife includes cinemas, nightclubs, restaurants and bars.
The
Lomaiviti group of islands, the heart of Fiji lies off the east
coast of Viti Levu and consists of seven main islands and a
number of smaller ones, which cover an area of 411 square
kilometers with a combined population of 16,214. These islands
are rustic and serene where travelers have ended up staying
longer than planned. The Lomaiviti Group, 'Fiji's Big Fish
Capital', consist of the islands of Namenalala, Makogai, Koro,
Wakaya, Batiki, Nairai, Gau, Ovalau and Moturiki.
Levuka
Levuka is the large, 626m high volcanic island just east of Viti
Levu. It is Fiji's former capital, located on the island of
Ovalau with a population of 3745. Levuka is the most picturesque
town in Fiji, and one of very few places in the South Pacific
that still has a significant number of quaint colonial
buildings.
Levuka is famous for many of Fiji's
'firsts'. It was the site of Fiji's first bank, post office,
school, private members club, hospital, town hall and municipal
government. For travelers who want to experience and be part of
a living heritage, Levuka is a trip back in time, to a Fiji that
is still untouched by mass tourism.
There are three ways to get to Levuka.
Air Fiji flies from Nausori Airport to Ovalau, Patterson
Brothers Ferry Service departs from Suva on a scheduled basis.
Apart from the usual activities of scuba diving, snorkeling,
fishing, hiking and sightseeing, Levuka offers its visitors
unforgettable historical and cultural experiences. The
historical town tour allows visitors to view historical sites
and meet with local residents and hear about Levuka's rich and
interesting past.
Leleuvia
Leleuvia is a coral cay, east of Ovalau and away from the much
traveled backpacker trails of Fiji. Unlike other islands in
Fiji, Leleuvia provides visitors with their own private island
getaway with a difference. There are two ways to get to Leleuvia
Island; by boat from Levuka or from Nausori by bus, taxi and
boat.
Wakaya
Wakaya Island is a privately-owned island, approximately 2,200
acres in size and located 20km east of Ovalau. It is
characterized by towering cliffs, primeval forests, white
crescent beaches and endless blue waters. It is approximately 35
minutes by air from Nadi International Airport. The island is
also 20-minute speedboat ride from Levuka.
The
Kadavu Group, Fiji's fourth-largest island lies about 100
kilometres south of Viti Levu. Divers are particularly
fascinated by the 50km-long Astrolabe Reef which encloses a
lagoon containing a number of islands. Kadavu has a population
of 10,000 and an area of 411 square kilometres, located
approximately 45 miles south of the capital city of Suva. Widely
acknowledged as one of Fiji's most unspoilt islands, its lush
rainforests and exotic wildlife have earned Kadavu a reputation
as one of Fiji's most beautiful islands. Kadavu still has 75% of
its original rainforest cover and a rich bird diversity,
including four species endemic to the island. Kadavu is one of
the least developed areas of Fiji with few roads, and a local
economy largely dependent on subsistence farming.
Kadavu enjoys some of the world's best
diving with the Great Astrolabe Reef stretching its mighty coral
formations along the entire eastern side of the island. Beneath
the surface, the island's pristine waters offer excellent
visibility, with gardens of hard and soft corals, vertical
walls, caves and brilliant tropical fish of every species.
On land, the lush rainforest, mountain
ranges, bush trails and waterfalls are a delight for hikers, and
local guides can show you the rare birdlife unique to the
island, including the Kadavu parrot.
There are daily flights to Kadavu, one
from Nadi as well as seaplanes and a ferry service from Suva.
Kadavu resorts offer a variety of quality accommodation from
